My Top 5 Browser Tips

Do you sit at a computer all day every day 5 days a week? Do you find that you use an internet browser a lot, like Google Chrome? If so – What’s your favorite browser for searching the web? Well, if it’s Google Chrome, your in luck because I am sharing my top 5 tips while using Google Chrome that I have discovered over time.

I could not get through my day without Chrome and the features/extensions.  If you are like me and you have to manage your daily tasks in an organised fashion and get bored easily, therefore you try to make your tasks a bit more fun? Then I think these tips will have a positive impact in your day.

Tip #1 – Momentum

This is amazing! When you open a new tab on the browser, you are presented with a moment of calm and it inspires you to be more productive. You can customise this to your liking, you can make a To Do list, set a daily focus and get inspired with a daily photo and a quote. I find that this helps beat procrastination, sets me up for the day and eliminates other time wasting distractions. The background photo changes every day and there has not been one photo I have ever disliked. The quote changes every day also and trust me, you’ll be saving some of these quotes as they are truly inspirational and again there is a handy feature built in where you can hit the heart by the quote and it is instantly saved.

All of these features together are just perfect and are by no means distracting. Below is a screenshot of my set-up I had the other day:

Tip #2 – Auto Text Expander

This tool is too handy! Are you sick of typing out the same ole word over and over again or typing your email address constantly? Well, I have an answer for you.
This is similar to the shortcuts that can be set-up on your mobile phone for texting. Auto Text Expander is an extension for the browser and after adding this extension, this will have to be set-up originally containing the words etc you would like to have included. Once this is done, that’s it! You’ll miss this feature when it comes to using other devices! It is like having a slave do some of the work for you. Let me know if this helps you out and benefits you in some way, I know I was amazed by it anyway 🙂 Take a look at this quick screenshot I took when I was setting it up for myself

Tip #3 – BOOKMARKS!!

If you have not already done this and you constantly work at a computer / with a browser? How do you survive? If I didn’t have bookmarks, I would feel like I was naked or something. I hate when I have to use someone else’s computer and I have to go back to basics, think of the URLs and more, ugh!!

Here’s a quick video that I made to show you what I have set-up and how handy it could be for you if you set it up like this also:

Tip #4 – Sync Data across devices

If you use different devices, whether it be your laptop at home, computer/laptop at work/college/school or if you hot desk it, how much easier would it be to have everything in one place when it comes to your browser. When you’re signed in to Chrome on different devices, you can sync bookmarks, history, passwords, and other settings across..

***To help keep your data private:***

Only sign in to Chrome from trusted devices.

Don’t sign in to Chrome on a public or shared device.

Here is a screenshot of the settings in Chrome of how to sign into your account.

Tip #5 – Theme

Again, if you get bored easily and you constantly use Google Chrome, do not fear – I am here! Themes, themes, themes!! How can you not have a pretty little theme staring back at you every day, why use the default one? Maybe you want things to be simplistic? That’s ok because there are loads of themes to choose from.

The theme appears around the border of the browser and as the background when you open a new tab. Your Chrome themes are stored in your Google Account, so when you sign in to Chrome on any computer (like I mentioned in the previous tip), you will see the same theme. Take a look at the theme I am using this week, below, I get bored easily and change it often, look how pretty this one is?
